The Friends of Cromford Canal hold regular work parties on the canal throughout the winter season (currently summer working is out owing to ecological conditions). These are held in various areas along the canal, and current efforts on the western section are concentrating on the clearance of reed at Cromford Wharf and trees at High Peak Junction. All work parties on the western section are normally held in conjunction with Derbyshire County Council Rangers.
Other work parties on this stretch have included work clearing outside Gregory Tunnel. Photos of those work parties can be seen in the photo galleries. If you are interested in joining future work parties, contact the work party organiser, John Barker, for more information (see the contact page for contact details).
