The Friends of Cromford Canal hold regular work parties on the canal throughout the winter season (currently summer working is out owing to ecological conditions). These are held in various areas along the canal, and current efforts on the eastern section are concentrating on the clearance of trees at Jacksdale, with six weekend work parties having been held there in the winter season 2010 / 2011. The efforts are now largely complete, and we extend a big thank you to all those who helped out.

Other work parties on this stretch have included work clearing out the locks at Ironville, and the dry dock at lock 6. Photos of those work parties can be seen in the photo galleries. If you are interested in joining future work parties, contact the work party organiser, John Barker, for more information (see the contact page for contact details).
