Work Parties - Photo Galleries (Ironville Locks)
This photo gallery shows the work done by FCC volunteers in conjunction with Derbyshire Wildlife Trust to clear rubbish and scrub from Ironville Locks. All images are courtesy of Ron Amner.

Looking under the Railway Bridge at Ironville. There is a trickle of water still flowing, but a haven for fish and crayfish.
Taking a well-earned lunch break!
Fishing waste out of the lock pounds using the traditional tool of a hook on a stick!
Not just rubbish, but fully-grown trees have to be removed from the bed of the canal.
Items removed from the canal had to be barrowed off the towpath to a nearby location for collection.
The canal in this area has been used as a rubbish tip for some time, and has been sadly neglected.
After a hard morning's work, the canal is starting to look a lot cleaner.
