The Pinxton Arm
This arm of the Cromford Canal runs from the northerly end of the Codnor Reservoir at Ironville to the wharf at Pinxton - a distance of some 3 miles.
This part of the Canal is now unfortunately almost completely filled in except for the final section towards Pinxton itself. It also runs across the old open-cast Smotherfly workings, which until very recently were the centre of a long drawn-out planning process. We have now been granted planning permission to restore the canal across this site. Watch here for further developments!
